William Wareham
Metal sculptor William Wareham has his MFA and MA from the University of California at Berkeley and his BFA from the Philadelphia College of Art in Philadelphia, PA. He was a Peace Corps volunteer in Peru and also studied at Yale University and the University of the Americas in Mexico City. He has twice been awarded the Eisner Prize for Sculpture and has received an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. He was assistant to Mark di Suvero, Peter Voulkos and assisted Georgia O’Keefe with her retrospective show at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in l970. He has taught sculpture at San Francisco State University, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Nevada in Las Vegas and the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA. His impressive steel sculptures are to be found in many public collections, including San Francisco State University, Berkeley City Hall, Honolulu Academy of Art and the University Art Museum in Berkeley.
