Jonathan Russell
Jonathan Russell works primarily with copper and steel. His recent show at the Tacheles in Berlin, Germany consisted of nine 16ft high sculptures made of thousands of pieces of copper welded together into abstract figurative forms. His current work continues this abstraction utilizing the technique of Electro-forming on a large scale. Jonathan studied at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and has taught at the SF Academy of Art University, UC Santa Barbara and Harvard University. He has been featured in many solo shows at galleries and museums on the east and west coasts including the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Palos Verdes Center for the Arts and the Ashuah-Irving Gallery in Boston. He is the winner of the Helen Blaire Crosbie Sculpture Award.
