SCULPTORS

Ed Haddaway

Ed Haddaway, whose works have been widely exhibited throughout the Southwest over the past two decades, explores various passages of the human mind from childhood remembrance to dream and vision. A grouping of his work generally resembles a playground. Whimsical, often abstracted shapes leap in every direction. A large, flat blue metal head looms over an irregular, yellow staircase. Arms and tentacles of steel reach through air like branches from trees. The room is often lit with an implied sense of laughter. Stemming from a childhood predilection for asserting his will and imagination on the external world, these magical polychromatic sculptures reflect infant visions of boats, airplanes, carnival rides, clubhouses, and other quotidian artifacts that Haddaway once envisioned materializing. Haddaway way was educated at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, TX, the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM, and North Texas State, in Denton, TX and his work is found in numerous private and public collections across the US.
