SCULPTORS
Dan Corbin
Born in Marysville, CA Corbin grew up on his family's orchard in Gridley, CA. After a hitch in the Army in Europe, where he became inspired by art, he went to Spain to get involved himself. He returned to the US and earned a BA in art from UC Santa Barbara, then a Masters in Art from CSU at Chico. His sculptures are created from calcium aluminate, sheet metals and a variety of found objects. The torso forms echo Roman and Hellenic influences with additions of the modern day included into each one. He feels that "recombining and reconstructing Humanity's everyday materials into a figurative sculpture cannot help but represent the times we live in".
