Bruce Newell
Newell grew up in Carmel and Big Sur. After a stint in the Army as a Russian linguist, he attended the University of Colorado and California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland CA. He went on to earn a BFA and an MFA from the San Franicisco Art Institute wherehis focus was sculpture. His emotions about the animals that he grew up with led him to create wonderful bronzes. In particular, his life size sculptures of horses have a heroic and dignified quality that has attracted the attention of many collectors across the US.
