SCULPTORS

Albert Dicruttalo

Addressing the themes of entrapment, freedom and identity, Dicrutallo uses casting and fabricating techniques to create bronze sculpture. He employs a direct approach, often cutting and welding bronze sheets into hollow, geometric sections and juxtapositioning them with figurative bronze castings. The tension created between the organic contours of the human figure and the hard-edged linear definition of plane geometry is recurrent in Dicrutallo’s work. A graduate of Ithaca College, Ithica, NY, Dicrutallo has taught at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco and exhibited in galleries on both coasts.
