Andreas Reimann

Reimann specializes in developing pop art in the tradition of Andy Warhol. He pays homage to the icons of the 20th century. He began with classic painting and evolved into mixed media and silk screening, where he uses layers upon layers of hidden details and illusion. He believes that in pop culture, "there are people who get hyped as icons, and then there are those who wish to be hyped." The world of super-pop is about creating icons and selling them, making Reimann's work the perfect way to integrate art into pop culture.

Reimann selects photographs with mysterious facial expressions that leave the viewer questioning if the subject is filled with pride or arrogance. He believes Romy Schneider to be his "personal pop icon" because of how many interpretations he found of a single expression on her face. That particular portrait also helped him develop his signature style of layers of silk-screening with mixed media. He considers his work to be timeless as it is exactly in the context of its own time. Because of that, it will always be relatable and reminiscent of a period in the history of global culture.
