Graduated from the University of San Francisco in l971, Michelson
began painting and drawing in the photo realistic style without any formal art training. His work immediately caught the attention of some important galleries, curators and critics. He has had solo exhibitions on both coasts, has been included in many group shows and has pieces in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian, the Brooklyn Museum of Art and the Auchenbach Foundation in San Francisco.
