"TIME AND PLACE"

These watercolors, compilations and individual portraits, are each defined in some way by time and place, the month or season during which the flowers were blooming, the garden or wild place where I found them. In the studio, hours spent observing of plant forms, layering thin pigment on paper, are incremental moments in the long practice of trying to understand and communicate how these fragile subjects wield such power, and to lift them from temporal reality into art.
