Boston based artist, Aaron Fink executed his
first painting of a hat in homage to his grandfather, Carl Swan.
Fink paints commonplace objects - fruit, glasses, cups, candles
and hats, none of which can be defined by their time and place of
manufacture. He plays with these archetypical forms, pushing the
work to the edge of abstraction, leaving the viewer with an experience
of bold form and color. Fink studied at the Maryland Institute College
of Art, Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and received
his MFA from Yale University in l979. He has been the recipient
of many distinguished awards, including a grant from the Ford Foundation
and two grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. He exhibits
internationally and is featured in many public and private collections.
