Peter Presnail

Known for his unusual medium of oil pastel on paper, laid down on board then sealed with a dense clear acrylic, Presnail’s subjects are archetypal forms of highly stylized houses, barns, jars and trees. His colors are subtle and the light has a mysterious quality to it.

Educated in painting and drawing at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago where he received his B.F.A., he went on to take his M.F. A. from Saint Cloud University in Minnesota. He is widely shown and collected throughout the U.S. and has received many awards for his talent.
