Longtime designer/illustrator and fine artist,
Herrero is known for his humorous observations and technically rich
canvasses. Having studied at California College of Arts and Crafts,
he dedicated many years of his career to illustration. Today he
is one of America’s most widely published artists. Since his
commitment to fine art in l970, Herrero has enjoyed one person shows
from coast to coast, and has his works in many prestigious private
collections. When asked to describe his work, he responded, “I
really love the icons of our culture, particularly as they are expressed
in rural life. I’m not big on philosophy. I paint because
it’s fun.”

Color Studies Small, delightful color studies that
were the starting place for many of Herrero's large paintings.
These studies were done in acrylic and pencil on illustration
board. Each is framed elegantly in a simple gold frame with
a deep linen matt.
